Flags are fabulous fun! It was a great privilege for members of Arts Without Boundaries to be invited to Chartwell on 26 January, to participate in a collaborative flag design project ‘Spring Colour at Chartwell’ hosted by a wonderful team from the National Trust and Kinetika.
Taking inspiration from the theme of glorious spring colours in the Chartwell gardens, AwB members worked together throughout the session to draw up strikingly colourful design contributions which will be incorporated into a magnificent Arts Without Boundaries silk flag. The finished flag will then be installed at Chartwell, for enjoyment of visitors for two weeks, to coincide with the National Trust’s Blossom Week in late April.
After the craft session, our members enjoyed a walk in the garden with Claire Vincent, Chartwell’s Senior Volunteer and Community Officer and made a short video together, highlighting the positive impact which collaborative arts projects such as ‘Spring Colour and Chartwell’ can have, and how they resonate so well with the aims and ethos of Arts Without Boundaries.
